NV GOP cancels their state convention

Just spreading the news... That's more good news for senator Obama. In this battle state. In addition to just reading that Rasmussen has Obama up in NV 42-40% McCain. 47-45% including leaners, The trend is not good for McCain in June he was at 45%, he's down 5 points. This convention thing suggest major problems for McCain in terms of organizing in the state.

On top of that, word has it the Ron Paul may be going to sue his party to contest how they may be planning to allot delegates as a result of the stalemate at prior attempts of the state convention.

Sit back and watch the fireworks.

Citing a lack of interest, the Nevada Republican Party has called off its state convention and will instead pick its delegates to the national convention by private conference call.

The state party broke up its original convention in April when supporters of Ron Paul hijacked the proceedings and tried to elect delegates for their candidate to the national GOP convention in September. Party officials tried to reconvene on July 26, but they needed a quorum of 675 and received only 300 RSVPs, according to local reports.

"With so many people concerned about the economy, it simply wouldn't be fair for us to ask delegates from all over the state to spend money to attend a convention if we know that a quorum won't be present," state party Chairwoman Sue Lowden said in a release.

Lack of interest? I can't understand why? Ha ha
From a convention to a conference call. Now that's pathetic. Thanks for the info.

What I don't understand is this diary currently has nearly twice as many recs as another highly contentious diary currently on the Recommended List, yet this one is nowhere to be found.

Funny how that happens.

Ron Paul is a great symbol of the Republican party's disastrous trajectory. The party is foundering, so Paul's supporters are infiltrating and planning to drive it even further to the right.

Good luck running hundreds of Ron Pauls for Congress in 2010...
