Help Sam Seder on Air America

I don't know how many of you listen to Air America, more than a few judging from the Randi Rhodes dust up a few weeks ago, but now we have a chance to get Sam Seder back on during the week.
For those of you that haven't heard him before, he has guests on like Glenn Greenwald, Digby, Christy Hardin Smith (Fire Dog Lake), Markos Moulitsas and other progressive voices speaking out against the Bush regime.
Robert Greenwald of Brave New Films has put up a petition to send to AAR management to ask that Sam take over the 12-3 afternoon slot formerly held by Randi.
Please sign the petition and get this important progressive voice back on during the week!

Re: Help Sam Seder on Air America (2.00 / 1)

Let me one up you, The Young Turks is fantastic show that had to leave because AA couldn't afford their morning slot anymore.  They are currently doing a video webcast everyday now during the afternoon drive time slot, and running a 24 hour loop on their site. www.theyoungturks.com

Cenk and Sam have excellent chemistry together and would have an awesome show.
Sam has guest hosted the show several times and was slated to be a permanent Friday host until TYT stopped airing on AA.

Cenk and TYT aside I think Sam would be stellar on his own too.

For the style of hard hitting and funny talk Radio Cenk Uyger and Sam Seder are at the top of their game.

This is a quick bit from them covering the SC debate:

The problem with a lot of Liberal radio is that it can kinda put you to sleep, that's never an issue with these guys.

Anyways check out their show today at 3pm- 7pm

Re: Help Sam Seder on Air America (none / 0)

George, I honestly did not know why TYT left AAR. I thought it had something to do with money, but the details were never revealed. The last time I went to the Young Turks website, I got a "page not found", and assumed they found another venue.
I always liked Turk, and did hear one show with Turk and Sam together, which was excellent.
Thanks for the links!

Re: Help Sam Seder on Air America (none / 0)

The show still goes on.

The reason of departure was never officially stated but with the obvious facts I like to assume that Air America could not afford Cenk's show anymore and further could not afford the morning drive slot, obvious since they never refilled it.

The show never missed a beat, they changed to the afternoon drive slot and are now user supported.
That means Cenk answer to noone other than his listeners.

Please come by and check it out, the show is now uncensored and better than ever.

Sam is funny. Funny is good (2.00 / 1)

Radio minus funny equals Thom Hartmann.  Earnest but tedious.  They screwed Sam in favor of the unbelievably bad Lionel, so one can't hold out a lot of hope that they will do the right thing this time.  But maybe if enough of us apply ourselves, who knows?

Re: Sam is funny. Funny is good (2.00 / 1)

Good Point, I think we would all love one of our favorite programs to go on that slot but I still have reservations about an outfit that will police their own talent for speaking too much truth to power.

I think AA's biggest problem is their listeners.

There is the NPR crowd who want a show to nap to and then people like me and most others posting here who want radio hosts who are passionate about their ideals and pull no stops in reporting the news.
